Finally! After a month of waiting and an October Snow storm, We have a Champ!

Your 2011 Champion is Elliot!

Elliot who has been to the finals the last 4 years was back again this year. He would on paper be a heavy Favorite. Underdog #6 seed Dan D. was the challenger. Dan showed though why he belonged there. He first knocked off the #3 seed and 2010 champ The Steve int he quarter finals. Then Dan went on to sweep #2 seed Stoner to get to the finals. Up next for Dan was now 4 time finalist and #1 seed Elliot.

Elliot had a much easier road to the finals based on seedings.

#6 Dan D. Vs #1 Elliot

Elliot takes game 1 with an 8-3 victory. With the game tied at 3-3 in the 4th Elliot and his White Sox put up 5 in the bottom of the inning. Elliot got out of a bases loaded 1 out jam in the 5th and closed it out in the 6th. With the win Elliot snapped his 6 game losing streak in the finals and has now won 13 straight games. Elliot is also one win away from the 1st ever undefeated season. Dan will look to get back on track and extend the season with a game 2 win.

Game 2: Dan 6-2

Dan was in control from the start jumping out to and early lead that he would not let go. His team was lead by 2 HR's from The Steve. Dan would also help himself with a late inning HR. For Elliot and the White Sox all they could get was 2 runs from 4 walks and a hit by Otto. Although that pulled the game to 4-2 it wouldnt be enough as Dan would add 2 more runs and set up a game 3 that would not dissapoint. For Elliot it was the first loss he suffered all year. How would he respond?

Game 3: Elliot 3-2

In this pivitol game 3 Dan would strike 1st getting a 1st inning HR from Slim and a 2nd Inning HR from Cody. This would Give Dan the early 2-0 advantage. Elliot who won the toss had a pretty solid line-up from top to bottom. Steve, Elliot, Otto, Mink, Nikki. With that being said his crew did not have 1 home run! It was all small ball.

A lead off hit from Otto in the 3rd gave them a man on with no one out. Mink would ground out and move Otto to Second NIkki then would move Otto to 3rd with 2 outs. Steve would just beat out a sharp hit ball up the middle keeping the inning alive and driving in the White Sox first run. Elliot would then help himself with a hit over the left field hit line. ( HIs first of the game ) So with 2 outs in a 1 run game Otto would come up and beat out a bloop hit just over the 1st base line. Steve would score from 3rd. Elliot would be right behind him from 1st. Dan who got the ball threw at Elliot and hit him just as he touched the plate. Elliot was safe giving him a 3-2 lead. Mink would make the last out of the inning. That would be all the games scoring. In the 6th Slim nearly tied the game with 2 outs hitting a just foul HR down the 3rd base line. He would then K to end the game and the season.

Elliot who has been to the finals the last 4 years can finally say he is THE CHAMP!

Harry pulls away from Billy late to move into the quarter finals.

Boom comes back to win in a walk-off against 10th seeded Slim.

Final Score: Boom 6-5 ( 6 Innings )

Quarter-Finals

Dan D. takes down the Champ in a rematch of last years QF match-up.

A story of Two: Two runs, Two robbed HR's by Harry and Two costly errors lead to a Dan D. Victory.

Final Score: Dan D. 2-1 ( 6 innings )

Stoney moves into the Semi-Finals with a 6-1 victory over Boom.

A two run shot by Stoney in 3rd broke a 1-1 tie. After that an Elliot Rbi Single in the 4th and an Elliot 2 run shot in the 5th lead Stoney to Victory.

Final Score: Stoney 6-1 ( 6 innings )

Elliot Moves on with a 5-3 win over Harry.

Elliot comes back from being down early and survives a late inning comeback attempt. The win put Elliot in the Semi-Finals for the 5th straight year. Harry who has made the playoffs the last two years has not made it past the QF since 2007.

Final Score: Elliot 5-3 ( 6 innings )

Cody gets back to the Semi-Finals for the 2nd straight year.

In a hard fought game that was back and forth Cody helps himself by driving in the go ahead run with a key right field hit. Jeff who is a finalist for the Comeback player of the year finishes his season 10-3 ( Including playoffs)

It was like old times at HRL's Pops Park.
